Curricular Activities
Mathematics
Students participate in activities that build numeracy skills either in small groups or independently with the direction of their teacher .They will learn and use mathematical language to problem-solve, categorize and express capacity, time, and objects.
Language
Students will understand and use language appropriately, participate in activities involving language games, relate sequence of events, use tenses correctly, sequence words to make sentences, use and write appropriate descriptive language
Reading
Students will learn letters, letter sounds, high frequency words, and the rules of phonics to enhance reading fluency. They will engage in using flash cards, word walls, memory games, and spelling.
Spanish
Parents may choose to have their students participate in Spanish on Wednesdays with our Spanish teacher, Ms. Shakes. Students learn to count to 10 , learn colour words, greetings, and songs that reinforce simple conversational Spanish.
Piano
Parents may choose to have their students participate in the extra-curriculuar activity of piano lessons on Tuesdays with our Piano teacher,
Dance
Parents may choose to have their students participate in the extra-curriculuar activity of dance on Mondays at—TBD–
Speech and Drama
Parents may choose to have their students participate in Speech & Drama on Thursdays. They will learn role-playing, and intonation .
Karate
Parents may choose to have their students participate in Karate on Thursdays.They will learn self-defense, discipline and self-control.
